Cherry Blossoms | Seattle Child Photographer

For Alandra’s 5th birthday, her mom mentioned how much she wanted to do a session with the cherry blossoms at the University of Washington. We had tried for a few years to do a session there, but never could get mother nature to cooperate with us – rain and wind, or early/late bloom times would keep us from being able to use these blossoms for our backdrop. This year, it seemed all was going to work out. On the morning of our session, my weather app kept hinting that we were going to get rained out. Penny kept peeking out of the windows of her office building, and keeping an eye on the weather. When it was time for me to head down to Seattle, her message to me said all looked clear! So, as I got in my car, heading own I-5, I was none too pleased to have rain splattering all over my windshield. It kept up my entire way to the university, including while I was parking (although, let’s be honest…it’s Seattle, it was merely drizzling!!!) By the time I reached the Quad, the rain had stopped. There were hardly any crowds of people, so we didn’t have to worry too much about photo bombers! Alandra is definitely a natural at posing these days! And little brother Dresden had to join in for a few images, as well!
