My brother is a Marine, proudly serving overseas. 3 months after his second son was born, he and his family moved far away. I was really bummed he was taking my nephews so far, and even more bummed when I wasn’t able to visit when his daughter was born. So, in early October, when he called to tell me that they were all coming home for a visit, I dropped everything and jumped on a plane to Florida. 2 1/2 days isn’t much of a vacation, especially when flanked on either side by cross-country air travel. Nevertheless, I got to spend 2 1/2 amazing days being an auntie to 3 of the sweetest, funniest, and adorable kids I am proud call me Aunt!
This is Caleb – he was 2 weeks old when I met him for the first time. Hard to believe how grown up he is at 5 now. He still loves to play with toy cars, which reminds me so much of his daddy. When Auntie pulled out her camera, he’d give me the stare down until I bribed him with whatever toy I happened to have hiding in my pocket. Then he’d give me all kinds of smiles!! This is sweet Gavin. Gavin’s face reminds me so much of my brother at this age that it’s a little spooky. He sucks on his bottom lip, hides his face to keep from showing that he’s laughing, and loves to ask Auntie to sing him “The Boat Song” (Row, Row, Row your Boat) and “The Spider Song” (I bet you can figure that one out). Little princess Lillian. I missed out on knowing her the first 18 months of her life. She is just a little darling. She loves following around her big brothers and wants to play with all of their toys. And she has both her Mom and her Daddy wrapped around her little finger. She even managed to convince her Auntie to share a bowl of ice cream (and if you know me, you know I do NOT share ice cream!!!) 🙂These next two are by no means perfect – my focus left a little to be desired, but I love them too much not to share them!Gavin trying desperately not to laugh…My baby brother with his baby girl (and yes, he will always be my baby brother!!!)Thanks for stopping by!
